Oaxaca is a foodie’s dream come true. Came here for dinner. Starting with a superb salsa which was made on our table our expectation shot up. And we were not disappointed. If you are in Oaxaca you must visit if you are looking for great food and upscale dining.

We had an amazing experience here. The drinks we tried were really good and unique. They will make salsa by your table to the spice level you request. The menu is pretty diverse as well, but our waiter was helpful in narrowing down our lists. The duck was really good. The entire staff worked as a team. I think we met everyone working there tonight and we never had to wait for something.

I visited Oaxaca, and oh my goodness, I totally fell in love with this beautiful cityThe restaurant Casa Oaxaca I went to had beautiful ambiance, food and vibes, it was just perfect. The waiters were so sweet, taking the time to explain everything to me. The salsa presentation was so authentic, made fresh right in front of me. My food, cocktail, and dessert were absolutely delicious, and the view of the church? Breathtaking. Oh, and at that day, there were 250 of the best chefs from Mexico thereIt was such a magical, unforgettable memory

While this place is excellent and I appreciate what it is, I think It would take several visits to get a true appreciation of its excellence. It is overwhelming for a non Spanish speaking visitor without any knowledge of local cuisine. The vast numbers of exquisite dishes and the finely curated selections of agave and mezcal were really out of our reach of true appreciation. Without a guide We felt lost but not in a bad way. I think the food was on a very high level of greatness, but I don't know enough about the regional foods to say why. With that said... The atmosphere is upscale and polished. The wait staff, efficient. Maybe too efficient and that's where expectations and cultural differences play a role. The menu was one that made us want every dish and not being able to try every dish made us feel as if we were missing out on something. We had 4of the cocktails, two on page one and two on page two. Each as delicious and provoking as the other, the mezcal dominating and intriguing. All a wonderful experience. The second page was margaritas and for me I'm not a fan of salt so I personally preferred the offerings of the first page of cocktails. The salsa prepared at the table as part of your meal was a beautiful experience to watch being prepared. You have the option to have it made to your tastes. For example picante or no hot peppers. Ask for a little bit more salt. Appetizer of beef tongue excellent. Sucking pig was everything you could imagine and more with its own mole. A bigger serving would not have been upsetting. The Turkey was not your mom's thanksgiving offering, but something special that will make you think of turkey in a whole new way. I could have eaten two servings without the black sauce and 3 with! By the time we finished our meals drunk with the pleasures of the food and with the mezcal buzz, dessert was unfortunately not happening. The price for the meal was as expected. Even writing this I'm thinking I wish I would have gotten the beef cheeks or the ants and worms, or the paperdilla pasta or the short ribs or tried a special mezcal...

Overall, the experience was great. I really enjoyed the turkey breast in mole—honestly, I don’t think I’ll have mole any other way (LOL!). My party had a wonderful time. Yes, Casa Oaxaca may be a bit overhyped, but the view, food, drinks, and service were all fantastic.

Have a early dinner right after we landed Oaxaca. The atmosphere, food and view are gorgeous . Love their fresh made salsa by the table, you can ask it to be made the level of spicy and salty. The waiter explained each dish very well so that you know what you are going to consume. Presentation is excellent, taste is tickling your palate one by one. A fabulous experience. Must go when you visit Oaxaca. But the way, their menu is served seasonal.
